Complete and utter shock thoroughly describes my reaction once the referee demanded I leave the ice. But let’s start from the beginning, the Rockland Lightning began their third last season game before playoffs against an arch rival the “Gloucester Stars.” Needless to say it was an important game, and the 2 points would have benefited the team drastically, unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
As the coach storms into the dressing room with new plays, and game plans he highlights the key reasons on the importance of this game. As we took to the ice, the team had incredible energy and was prepared and ready to go out and win the game. Right from the first shift of the game we had many chances and were outplaying the Stars, but then the unthinkable happened. I was heading towards the boards with an opposing player and went to go retrieve the puck from her, but our bodies collided and she flew into the boards head first!
Everyone was in shock as the Stars' player laid on the ground screaming in pain. I stood in the middle of the disaster, speechless. Unknowing what would occur next, I took slow, steady strides toward the penalty box where I thought I would spend 5 minutes. Little did I know I would be spending three games cheering my team on from the stands, as the referee insisted I leave due to the injury. As I leave the ice a fan yells harsh comments such as "You're ruining the game!" "Get off the ice!" My coach then leans over the bench and retaliates by screaming "You need to be ejected!" "Watch your mouth!" Needless to say my frustration over the call wasn't the only anger that rose from the conflict.
Aw I'm so sorry to hear this bb, I hope that you heal from those verbal wounds and come back only stronger and more powerful then you are already. I have complete faith in you my friend. Just know in your heart that you are better then them, and when they put you down, they are only making themselves look stupid. Keep Dual Chainz in your heart, cause he always keeps you in his heart. Keep it three hundred my friend <3
